This song is a late bloomer that originates from an arpeggiated guitar sound that I created sometime in 2014 after upgrading to Ableton Live 9. I rediscovered the file when sourcing sounds for the album in 2017 while I was riding the train to work. Upon rediscovering it, I was ignited and laid out the base structure and sound arrangements for the entire track within just three train ride sessions. The complexities of the main drum pattern were then refined over the next year and additional layers were added.

The drum pattern introduced after the first refrain was taken from a separate abandoned file that I found around the same time as the original “Blood Pressure” file. That file sounded a little too similar to the intro of “Battle Beat Won” so I figured the drum pattern would do more justice in this song. I’m still considering revising that other file because it would make a really cool alternate remix to both “Blood Pressure” and “Battle Beat Won,” like a parallel dimension version. The outro movement was taken from my unused attempts at creating a second chorus for “LIB” (the first movement of the next track “Afterglow”). Since that arrangement had evolved so much when it became “afterglow,” the original arrangement served as an appropriate transition between the two songs.
